IMPORTANT UPDATE TO YOUR VISION COVERAGE

Beginning January 1st, 2012, Hutto ISD’s vision coverage will be changing from the Eyemed Network to the VSP Network through Ameritas. With this change in Provider Network the new plan will:
  • Offer the same plan benefits, or in some cases, enhanced benefits with even more added features than the current plan.
  • Maintain the same rates through August 31, 2013.
  • Offer a large national network of Private Practice Doctors., retail chain providers which include Costco & EyeMasters and a national arrangement with Wal-Mart Vision Centers makes it simple and convenient to use your benefits at any location.
How to Utilize Your New Vision Benefits
Whether you choose to see a VSP doctor or a retail chain affiliate, like EyeMasters, using your vision coverage is simple and convenient.
  • Find an eyecare provider who is right for you. To find a VSP doctor or an affiliate provider, visit Ameritas Group, or call 800.749.9446.
  • Review your benefit information. visit Ameritas Group to review your plan coverage or click on the BENEFITS & FORMS link to review your plan information.
  • At your appointment, tell them you have VSP. There is no ID Card necessary.

That's it. VSP will handle the rest. There are no claim forms to complete when you see a VSP doctor or retail chain affiliate.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2011 – 2012

Hutto ISD’s Plan Year is September 1st, 2011 – August 31st, 2012. Hutto ISD will be conducting our annual Cafeteria Plan Enrollment May 9th through May 31st. Representatives from Combined Benefits Group, Inc will be at the district between May 9th through May 13th to assist employees with your benefit enrollment. Please check with your campus office for the exact time and dates.

We highly encourage all employees to login to our enrollment system to review your current benefits and update your personal information such including any address changes.

If you currently participate in the Medical or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, you must login and re-enroll in this plan for the upcoming plan year. Please note that due to recent health care reform legislation, effective 1/1/2011, Over-the-Counter medicines or drugs (e.g. Advil, Ibuprofen, cough syrup) are not eligible for reimbursement without a doctor’s prescription. Insulin is the only medicine that does not require a prescription. Also supplies that you need for medical care (e.g. contact lens solutions, bandages for wounds, thermometers) will continue to be eligible for reimbursement.


BENEFIT UPDATES

MEDICAL COVERAGE: All employees waiving coverage and those enrolled in medical, but making changes, must complete the Green TRS Form and return to the Human Resource Office. Your declination or changes within the online enrollment system does not complete your enrollment in TRS Medical Plans. Your separate and signed TRS Active Care application is required.

MEDICAL GAP PLAN: The Medical Gap Plan offered through American Public Life is now available to employees participating on the Scott & White Health Plan in addition to TRS Active Care I & II plans. This plan has been designed to work in conjunction with your selected medical plan through TRS ActiveCare to provide supplemental coverage to cover your deductibles and co-insurance due to in-patient hospital confinement for a minimum of 18 continuous hours, up to your out-of-pocket maximum expense. THIS AFFORDABLE PLAN IS A GUARANTEED ISSUE PLAN WITH NO HEALTH QUESTIONS AND NO PRE-EXISTING CONDITION LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS!

DISABILITY INCOME PROTECTION: The Disability Income Protection Plan will now be offered through Assurant Employee Benefits. Rates will no longer be based on Age. If you are currently enrolled in the disability plan, your coverage will automatically roll over to the new plan.

Enrollment Information

Important IRS Notice: Mandated federal regulations require social security numbers for any elections made for dependent coverage for medical, dental, and/or vision plans. To update your dependent information in the system, go to www.huttoisdbenefits.com and;

Click on the Benefit Login link in the upper right hand corner.

User Name: The First 6 letters of your last name, your first name initial, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.

Password: Your full last name (excluding punctuation) followed by the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
